Itinerary

Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay Tour

We will start the Colca Canyon Tour Arequipa with pick-up from your hotel in Arequipa at 7:30 am to depart for the town of Chivay,
on the route we will make stops and our guide will explain the importance of this valley.

Along the way, you will also be able to see camelids such as vicuñas and llamas.

We will also make stops at Pata Pampa (Mirador de los Andes is the highest point of the tour at an altitude of 4,800 meters above sea level),

Then we will arrive at the town of Chivay (lunch at the passengers’ expense), check into the hotel and in the afternoon visit the hot springs (overnight stay in Chivay at the designated hotel).

Day 2: Colca Canyon Tour and Departure to Puno.

07:00 a.m. After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the natural viewpoint known as La Cruz del Cóndor.
Along the way we will stop at key points where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Colca River. We will see hanging tombs dating back to pre-Columbian times, agricultural terraces that are over a thousand years old, and more.

Through our local guide, we will learn many things about the different indigenous groups that inhabited and still inhabit the Colca Valley.

Then we will arrive at the famous Cruz del Cóndor, where we will have 45 minuts to admire the natural beauty of the canyon and also to observe the flight of the condor.

You can also take short walks around the area.

Later, we will begin our return trip to Chivay, visiting some typical villages along the way. In the town of Chivay, we will make a final stop for lunch and to pick up your luggage from the hotel before departing for Puno. 

We will continue our Colca Canyon Tour Arequipa, boarding our tourist bus at 1:30 p.m. to depart from Chivay for Puno. (with all your luggage). During this trip, you will be able to observe the beautiful landscapes that this valley has to offer.

The bus will make a 10-minute stop at the Patapampa Volcano Viewpoint (4,950 meters above sea level), another stop at the Chucura Volcano, and another stop at Lagunillas, where you can observe birds and lagoons.

7:00 p.m. Arrival at the Puno terminal.
