Description

Immerse yourself in an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon with our Puerto Maldonado 4 Days and 3 Nights Peruvian Jungle Tours.

An adventure designed to connect you with nature in its purest state, exploring the biodiversity of the Tambopata National Reserve and the majesty of the famous Lago Sandoval and Monkey Island.

Itinerary

Day 1. Reception at the airport or bus terminal and transfer to the office for check-in.

You will then be transferred to the port captain’s office where we will board a boat for a one-hour cruise along the Madre de Dios River until we reach the lodge, where we will have a welcome meeting and a refreshing juice made with local fruits.

You will then be accommodated in your respective rooms.

After lunch, we will visit Monkey Island, located across the Madre de Dios River from our lodge. We will find various species, including the capuchin monkey family and the monk monkey, that live on the island.

Afterwards return to the lodge.

At night, we will go in search of white caimans, which are usually found on sandbanks in the Madre de Dios River. A flashlight will be required.
We’ll also be able to see the capybara, the world’s largest rodent, which can weigh up to 60 kilos.
After this experience, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner and then rest.

Day 2. After breakfast, we’ll hike 3 km through the dense tropical rainforest and head toward Lake Sandoval (a habitat for piranhas).

This lake is one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve, and we’ll take a rowboat ride where we’ll see a wide variety of birds and monkeys of different species (shansho, cormorants, jacanas, pumas, herons, vultures, cotomonkeys, monk monkeys, black-faced monkeys, woodpeckers, and sloths).

We may also encounter the endangered giant otter family (almost two meters long), and the largest recorded caimans, measuring over 4 meters long.

After appreciating this wildlife, we’ll return to the lodge to enjoy a traditional lunch.

At night, we’ll take a walk where we can appreciate the diversity of insect species, amphibians, reptiles, and other nocturnal animals.
Afterward, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 3. At 5:30 a.m., we’ll take a short walk along the Canopy Walkway, at an altitude of over 30 meters, allowing us to appreciate nature from the highest point possible.

We’ll also have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River.

From the platforms, we’ll observe different species of birds, such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, and orioles. It will be a wonderful experience.

After breakfast, we’ll prepare for a challenging activity in the trees at an altitude of over 30 meters. For this activity, we’ll have an instructor guide who will give us a talk on how to use the zip-line safety harness, allowing us to feel the adrenaline rush as we glide through the trees.

After this adventure, we’ll return to the Lodge for lunch.

After lunch, we can go fishing in the Madre de Dios River. With a little patience, we’ll see some species of fish such as catfish and palometas, among others.

On this 4-Day, 3-Night Peruvian Jungle Tours service, we’ll continue in the afternoon with the challenge of crossing the Madre de Dios River by kayak, enjoying the fascinating sunset along the way.
