This is an action-packed day of incredible landscapes, majestic wildlife, and seamless travel.
The Majestic Condor Flight, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Andean condors—the world’s largest flying birds
Traditional Villages, quaint villages like Maca and Yanque, home to beautiful colonial churches.
Pre-Inca Terraces: Marvel at the ancient agricultural terraces that have been carved into the canyon walls for centuries and are still in use today.
Optional Hot Springs: For those who wish to, there’s a chance to relax in the healing thermal waters of the La Calera Hot Springs (optional, entrance fee not included)
We will begin our Full Day Colca Canyon tour with a pickup from your hotel in Arequipa at 3:30 a.m. in a tourist van that you will share with other tourists.
We will travel from the city of Arequipa to the town of Chivay (3 hours by tourist transport):
At approximately 6:30 am, we will arrive in Chivay (3600m) and stop at a restaurant for breakfast.
Chivay is an Andean town located on the left side of the Colca Canyon, surrounded by agricultural fields.
Then we will arrive at Cruz del Cóndor, the highlight of the day is our arrival at the world-famous Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. As the morning thermal currents rise, you will witness the impressive spectacle of Andean condors, the largest flying birds in the world, gliding effortlessly over the canyon. It is a truly magical and awe-inspiring experience that will be one of the highlights of your trip.
After enjoying the breathtaking scenery, the flight of the condor, and the canyon, we will return to Chivay.
On the way back, we will visit Maca (where you can see a 16th-century colonial church; next to this village, you can see people working on the terraces).
Next you will enjoy an Andean lunch in Chivay to recharge your batteries.
Then, at the agreed time, we will board our tour bus to leave Chivay for Puno.
During this tour, you will be able to observe the beautiful landscapes that this valley offers, see the volcanoes, and also appreciate camelids such as vicuñas and llamas, making stops to enjoy and take photos of the landscape.
